2007 CARES Foundation CAH Conference
(UNION, NJ, July 26, 2007) -- The CARES Foundation is pleased to announce an opportunity for nurses to earn up to 6.5 contact hours through attending the upcoming 2007 CARES Foundation CAH Conference to be held Saturday, November 10, 2007, from 8:00 am to 5:00 pm at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center in Los Angeles, California.
“This event is an excellent – and rare – opportunity for nurses from across the country to learn about congenital adrenal hyperplasia and meet CAH community members; affected individuals and families, physicians, research scientists and other nurses; while earning continuing education units,” said Kelly Leight, founder of the CARES Foundation, about the conference.
By the end of the day, participants will be able to:
- Identify the basics of Congenital Adrenal Hyperplasia (CAH)
- Describe general treatment of CAH/NCAH
- Describe prenatal therapy for CAH
- Describe advancements in CAH therapy and future directions
- Describe the behavioral and psychological aspects of CAH
- Identify issues related to surgical reconstruction in CAH
- Discuss how CAH/NCAH affects fertility, pregnancy and reproduction
- Describe issues related to transition from pediatric to adult care
- Support the child and the family affected by CAH
- Answer common questions of the parents of newly diagnosed children
